Grade 7: £29,541 – £36,298 with discretionary range to £39,649 p.a.
The Faculty is seeking to appoint an individual from 1 October 2013 until 31 July 2014 (10 months) to provide teaching and research in the area of Early Modern German.
The postholder will be expected: to give no fewer than 16 lectures or classes on early modern German; to give an average of 8 hours tutorial teaching in early modern German (to include 8 hours of instruction in early modern German translation); to engage in advanced research in the subject; and to participate in University examining and administrative activities within the Faculty.
Applicants should possess: a PhD/DPhil in German (with a significant emphasis on the Early Modern period), to be submitted by the start of the post; a successful track record of teaching at undergraduate level, and an understanding of undergraduate needs and how to address them; and a strong research record in Early Modern German, appropriate to the stage of the individual’s career.
